WAR
The Journey of Martial
Prologue
War: a word as ancient as time itself. Humankind seems to be the only breed of creatures on this planet that has been marked by its relentless drive for conflict. From ancient battlegrounds to modern warfare, the scars of violence have marred our societies and left blood stains on the pages of our history books. Like the waves of the North Sea, nations have risen high and fallen to the depths of darkness — relegated to be nothing but footnotes on the books upon our shelves. Empires have clashed and countless lives have been lost. And it has been over everything. Spices. Land. Resources. Even resources of the human type — all in the name of power and wealth.
It is our innate desire to fight — to conquer and to dominate — that has become our legacy. The only animals in the kingdom with logic and reasoning have used those prefrontal cortexes to plot and scheme. But has it always been a part of our nature? Some say yes. And perhaps they’re right. For all of our advancements in technology, medicine, and even diplomacy, this drive to kill has remained unchanged. As we moved from industrial revolutions to technological ones, we soldiered on.
Quite literally.
But by the year 2000, the world stood at a crossroads. We had become trapped in a perpetual cycle that not only cost human life but led to the almost destruction of infrastructure. Cities lay in ruins and the perpetual cycle of revenge had created such a bloodlust that we had become no better than the animals we caged away in zoos and sanctuaries.
We needed a new solution to the conflict.
Following an outcry from citizens far and wide, leaders from every corner of the globe assembled in recognition of this need for a new approach. There had to be a way to channel humanity's competitive spirit without the catastrophic results that came from all-out war.
Thus, the World Action Rivalry, or WAR for short, was born.
It offered both ends of the spectrum reprieve. Those who wanted to fight, could. Those who wanted peace could watch.
But WAR was more than just a tournament. The best fighters from around the world would be selected to represent their countries — each vying for glory, riches, and the ultimate bragging rights of being the WAR champion.
The mode of combat, you ask?
Hand-to-hand martial arts.
In WAR, winning is a game of skill, strategy, and determination in the arena. Fighters engage in intense, high-stakes matches.
Now, this global tournament has become a beacon of hope and a testament to our ability to evolve and adapt. It offers a new path forward — one where conflicts are resolved through strength and skill rather than death and destruction.
Welcome to World Action Rivalry—a new era of combat.
